The best holiday/concert I've had

Like I said in another post, music is one of the most important things in my life. My first concert was System of a Down, when I was fifteen, but I didn’t enjoy it at all even when SOAD is one of my favorite bands. I had to live some other concerts to learn how to enjoy them. At first I was scared about the crowd, and I didn’t enjoy concerts because of that, but something told me to keep trying, concerts HAVE TO be like everyone says, unforgettable. And I was not mistaken. Through time I have learnt how to live a concert without dying, I think that the first time I really enjoyed a concert was in Pearl Jam, at 2013. But that was only the beginning of my way through living the music. This year I have been to a lot of tocatas by Chilean groups. But my best concert ever was Arcade Fire, this year at Lollapalooza. Like Syd Barrett said in 1967:

Really, we have only just started to scrape the surface of effects and ideas of lights and music combined; we think that the music and the lights are part of the same scene, one enhances and adds to the other. We feel that in the future, groups are going to have to offer much more than just a pop show. They'll have to offer a well-presented theatre show”

And that was Arcade Fire. Much more than just a pop show, it was a theatre. The costumes, the effects and the things that they prepare for us, Arcade Fire’s tour had by thematic the Reflektor’s video, with that giant heads making an intervention and so on.

But if I can say something as an advice, it doesn’t really matter how extraordinary is the band or the concert if you are alone living it. At Arcade Fire I was with very closer friends that came from Calama and Antofagasta, and I know that it would not have been the same without them. At that Lollapalooza I wanted to saw Nine Inch Nails instead of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but, because of my friends, I went to the last one anyway, even when I don't like very much RHCP. I don't regret about it, I really enjoyed it. I think that the final reflection from Christopher McCandless at Into the wild is very meaningful: "Happiness only real when shared"
